: either of two sulfides of antimony:
a. also antimony trisulfide : the trisulfide Sb2S3 occurring native as stibnite, obtained synthetically as an orange-red precipitate, and used chiefly as a pigment (as in camouflage paints), in percussion primer compositions, and in fireworks — compare antimony vermilion
b. also antimony pentasulfide : the pentasulfide Sb2S5 obtained as an orange-yellow precipitate and used chiefly as a pigment, in coloring and vulcanizing rubber, and in fireworks — called also golden antimony sulfide
